Japanese woodblock print titled Geisha in Lion Dance Attire (originally Seiro Niwaka Onna Geisha-bu: Shishi), created by the renowned Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamaro around 1783. 


Artist: Kitagawa Utamaro (c. 1753-1806), republished in 1963 as part of the Shueisha Masterpieces collection.
Subject: The central figure is a geisha named Oito from the Tamaya house, dressed in elaborate costume for a Lion Dance (Shishi) performance. 
Context: The scene captures a moment during the Yoshiwara Niwaka, a festival where geishas and courtesans performed improvisational skits and dances. 
Dimensions: 15 inches H x 01 W, unframed.
