Description
A neoclassical figural centre table base modeled as a pair of putti di mare (sea putti), each with cherubic upper body and scrolling fish tail. The two figures are seated in opposing orientation, their raised arms forming supports for the circular glass top.
The intertwined marine tails create a dynamic and balanced sculptural base, while the classical modeling of the torsos and drapery reflects a revival interpretation of mythological marine subjects. The surface presents a verdigris-toned finish consistent with cast bronze. The round glass top rests upon the figures’ uplifted hands.
