Lot 228:
Antique Russian Brass Ewer / Pitcher, Imperial Period, Stamped
Description
Hammered brass ewer with a tall tapering body, flared foot, elongated pouring spout, and applied curved handle. The surface exhibits a warm, naturally developed patina with visible hammer marks consistent with hand-raised metalwork. The form derives from traditional Russian and Eastern European utilitarian pitchers, often produced for domestic or ecclesiastical use during the late Imperial period.
The underside bears a stamped circular maker’s or workshop mark, partially legible.
