Description
Antique 19th C Thai Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha Statue, seated on a stepped gilt and red lacquer base in the lotus position, in the posture known as Mudra Bhumisparsha, right palm touching the earth to witness his enlightenment, while his left hand turned towards the sky rests on his legs. Buddha is characterized by an ornate monastic robe, serene facial expression with heavy-lidded eyes, and a tall, pointed flame finial atop the head. Measuring 10.5 inches H x 7 W x 4.5 deep.
