Description

Set of 3 1977 Yves Paquin Tarot Ideographique Du Kebek Serigraphies. Signed lower right, numbered lower left 45/60 (possibly 69). Framed, measuring 29 inches H x 16 W. Prints representing tarot figures, the Chariot, The moon and the World.

Yves Paquin is a multidisciplinary, self-taught Quebec artist and graphic designer, born in Montreal in 1951. He is known for his extensive work in drawing, painting, serigraphy (screen printing), animation, and installation art.

These framed serigraphs are part of the "Tarot ideographique du Kebek" (Ideographic Tarot of Quebec), created by the Quebec artist Yves Paquin. The series was conceived and illustrated by Paquin in 1976, and the artwork in the prints was made using a compass and square, similar to medieval imagery.

The original work consists of a 22-card major arcana deck, which won the International Graphic Designers Award in Paris in 1978. It was available as a deck of cards or prints, with the artist also creating limited edition art boxes containing original serigraphs
