Description
Original WWII Purple Heart medal in its government-issued presentation case, engraved on the reverse:
“FOR MILITARY MERIT
Pvt. Harry Slipakoff
France
Sept. 3, 1944”
Includes original ribbon bar and a pair of wartime dog tags belonging to the same soldier. Medal length approx. 3 inches. Case with expected age wear; medal in very good condition with deep purple enamel intact.
A historically significant, fully named, wartime-issued Purple Heart awarded for wounds received during the liberation of France in 1944."
