Antique Southeast Asian cast bronze Buddha, seated in bhumisparsha mudra (earth-touching gesture), on a double-tiered lotus base, with traces of original gilding throughout the surface. The reverse reveals traditional detailing in the robe and ushnisha, while the underside exposes an earthen core, consistent with lost-wax (cire-perdue) casting techniques historically used in Thailand, Laos, or Cambodia. This method involved casting the bronze around a compacted clay or sand core, which is now partially visible and naturally eroded over time.. Height: 5.5 inches (14 cm)
