Japanese pottery vase of Bizen Ware, which was made by a Human National Treasure, Yu Fujiwara (1932-2001) about 30 years ago. He is one of the greatest potters of Bizen ware, who was designated as a Human National Treasure in 1996. The siganture of the potter is carved on the body. The original wooden box with the signature of the potter and his profile are also included. Bizen ware is a type of Japanese pottery most identifiable by its ironlike hardness, reddish brown color, absence of glaze, and markings resulting from wood-burning kiln firing..
