Francois Xavier Lalanne (1927-2008) Dioscuresca

Signed in the plate FXL titled Les Dioscures measuring 30,5 x 24,5 cm. It is based on the twin half-brothers of Greek and Roman myth, Castor and Pollux, often depicted as divinities that protect sailors and warriors. Mythological themes are a constant in Lalanne’s oeuvre.
