Japanese Edo Wakizashi Takada NBTHK Papers
Description
The Takada school is known as the largest and most famous smith group in the Kyushu island, their works were highly appreciated among Samurai warriors for practical use, with the reputation of been strong, durable and battle oriented. They were referred to as Taira-Takada during Koto period, and later as Fujiwara Takada during Edo period. For this particular blade, it should date around late Koto to very early Shinto, thus a particular attribution is not given. Nagasa: 1 Shaku 7 Sun 6 Bu Han, 53.48cm or 21inches.
