Pair Important Limoges Uncle Tom's Cabin Fan Vases
Description
Pair of important 19th C Limoges Uncle Tom’s Cabin Fan Vases. These vases depict scenes from Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. One vase features Little Eva placing a garland of flowers around Uncle Tom’s neck, while the other portrays Little Eva carrying baby Harry as they cross the frozen Ohio River. The vases are crafted with biscuit figures set against mazarine blue vases, adorned with overhanging leaves and gilded accents. Vases measure approximately 19 inches H x 12.25 W x 6.25 deep. One incised N under base.
