Engraving of the Mort de Montcalm (the death of Montcalm depicting the death of French General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm after the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City, in 1759. The artwork was created in 1789 by Jean-Baptiste Morret after Jacques Francois Joseph Swebach-Desfontaines. The print was made in Paris by Pierre Blin. Approx 8 x 11 inches and framed to 12 x 16 inches. Provenance: A Dutch family collection that moved to Montreal in the 1920s.
