French Empire period fan set in acanthus scroll bordered case (frame), the leaf of the fan with hand painted romantic scenes set in cartouche of neoclassical woman, the carved and cut mother-of-pearl handle with gilt high lights, circa first half 19th century. Some repairs to fan, taped in places. Fan case measures 26 inches W x 15 H, fan measures 10 inches x 20 inches in open position.
