Edo Japanese Wakizashi Samurai Koshirae NBTHK Docs
Edo wakizashi koshirae with NBTHK papers of katana. Koshirae total length is 25.5 inches (64.77 cm), wooden blade is 18 inches (45.72cm). The handle, or tsuka, is wrapped with samegawa or ray skin, and the condition is excellent with a warm patina. Fuchi and kashira are iron, and menuki shows a horse on both sides. The tsuba is iron with inserts of brass. The wooden saya is in excellent condition. Circa 1800. The saya is loose. Please note the stand is not included in the lot.
