Antique Edo Japanese Samurai Wakizashi Sword
Edo period wakizashi in samurai koshirae. The blade and koshirae are in excellent condition. The sword has a total length of 19.5 inches (49.5cm) and has a nagasa or cutting edge of 13.25 inches (34cm). The blade features a well-made itame hada. A nice hamon is present all the way to the kissaki. The tang is signed Bishu-Osafune Sukeharu. The tsuba and fuchi are richly decorated with gold flowers. The kozuka-kogatana is decorated with insects. The habaki looks to be a silver one. The black-lacquered saya is in good condition. Circa 1800. Comes with a silk bag. The stand is not included with the sword. Please note the sword is a little loose in the saya.
